Habitat is delighted to welcome Helen de Young as our new Director of Resource Development for Monterey County. Helen brings years of leadership experience with a clear focus on fundraising, marketing and communications. As Habitat Monterey Bay expands its ambitions in Monterey County, Helen, a long-term resident of Salinas, is poised to raise Habitat’s profile and reach in service of our mission of building homes, communities and hope.
“Helen brings a wealth of experience to our Habitat affiliate,” said Catherine Stihler, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay. “We are excited about strategically expanding our work in Monterey County, and Helen will be key in driving our mission forward. We are lucky to have Helen as part of our Habitat team.”
Habitat's strategic vision for 2024-2027 includes clear goals for expanding our reach in Monterey County. In her new role, Helen will spearhead these efforts to expand Habitat’s presence and partnerships in Monterey County, helping to secure vital resources that enable the organization to build and repair homes, strengthen neighborhoods, and foster hope.
“As someone who has lived and worked in Monterey County for many years, I’ve seen firsthand both the need and the potential in our community,” said Helen de Young. “Habitat’s mission of building homes, communities, and hope is deeply inspiring to me.
