Volunteering at a Habitat construction site is a uniquely rewarding experience. Under the direction of the site manager, volunteers work alongside our experienced, dedicated construction team and partner families to build affordable homes for low-income families, while having a great time learning construction skills.
Volunteers assist with construction tasks as assigned, according to the progression of the build. No previous construction experience is necessary, however, willingness to follow Habitat’s safety standards and construction practices is a must.
Age Restriction: 16 years or older
Volunteer shifts are available Friday and Saturday.
Volunteer at Habitat for Humanity Restore and make a meaningful impact in your community! Our volunteering opportunities are perfect for retirees, individuals with construction experience, and those with retail or staging expertise. But remember, no experience is necessary – whether you're a seasoned pro or simply have a willingness to lend a hand, you can help with organizing, customer service, inventory management, and more. Your skills and experience will play a vital role in supporting affordable housing initiatives and providing essential home improvement items to those in need. Join us in creating a better world, one donation, one purchase, and one volunteer shift at a time
Responsibilities vary, but include data entry, thank you letters, special projects, and more. Though training on systems will be provided, a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel is helpful. Organizational and time management skills a plus. Volunteer shifts are available Monday through Friday.
These volunteers staff a Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay table or booth at various community events or assist with Habitat-hosted special events in the community or at our ReStores, providing support where needed. Volunteer shifts are available as needed.
We love volunteer groups! Pull together your friends, family, or coworkers, and have fun making a difference. Some group volunteer opportunities require sponsorship while others do not. We welcome all types of groups—corporate, faith, student, and community groups.
With your help on the construction site, from the foundation to the finishing touches, we can make affordable housing in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties a reality. We look forward to building with you!
