At Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay, this summer has been a season of growth, collaboration, and impact. Thanks to the dedication of our staff, volunteers, and community partners, we’ve made great strides in creating safe, affordable housing opportunities across the region. Here’s a look at the exciting progress we’ve made—and what’s coming next.
A New Administrative Home in Watsonville

Change is underway at our Watsonville ReStore! Over the past two months, our construction team and incredible volunteers have transformed 1,800 square feet of retail space into Habitat Monterey Bay’s new administrative offices and conference area.
This move brings our staff closer to upcoming build sites, strengthening community engagement and improving project coordination.
We are especially grateful to Lou Versman with WareHouse Direct for the generous donation of new flooring—your support makes a lasting difference.
📅 Save the Date: Join us for our official ribbon-cutting on October 1st—a celebration that also honors the 101st birthday of President Jimmy Carter, Habitat’s most beloved champion.
Supporting Pajaro Valley Shelter Services
We are proud to partner with Pajaro Valley Shelter Services (PVSS) as they continue their mission to provide transitional housing and critical services for families in southern Santa Cruz County. This summer, our team replaced redwood decking at PVSS’s downtown Watsonville location and made improvements at another property preparing to welcome new residents. There’s still more to do! This is a perfect opportunity for local businesses and organizations to get involved. Interested in a team build? Reach out today and help expand housing opportunities for families in need.
Santa Cruz Fire Recovery
Our commitment to rebuilding extends beyond new projects. Habitat Monterey Bay continues to support Santa Cruz Long Term Recovery (SCLTR), sending skilled staff and volunteers to repair and rebuild homes lost in the Santa Cruz Lightning Complex fires.
Every hour of service brings hope and stability to families still recovering from devastation.
Evan Circle Development – Watsonville
We’re working closely with the City of Watsonville, public works, and PG&E on final plans for our Evan Circle Development. Pending approvals, we anticipate breaking ground in early 2026 and welcoming our first volunteers by summer. This project will bring new, affordable homes to local families.
Marina Project – Building Momentum
Momentum is growing in Marina, where plans are underway for a nine-home development scheduled to begin construction in summer 2026. This project represents a vital step toward expanding affordable homeownership opportunities in Monterey County.
How You Can Get Involved
None of this progress would be possible without our dedicated volunteers, generous donors, and passionate supporters. Whether you’d like to volunteer, sponsor a project, host a team build, or contribute in other ways, your involvement helps us build not just homes, but hope. to learn how you can be part of building a brighter future for Monterey Bay families.
Together, we’re building stronger communities. Thank you for being part of our journey.
