You may not realize that Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay (and other local affiliates) is run as a small business. We carry the Habitat name, and have access to their informational resources, but we are independent. Our financials, leadership, processes, and home programs are all run locally and independently. With only 23 employees, we really are a small business!
Supporters who volunteer, donate, and shop at our two ReStore locations (and now online store!) directly provide for our programs and operations. Most of the time, 90-100% of donations go to our programs that provide homes to local, low-income families. 10% of certain donations goes to build homes globally through Habitat International, particularly our “partner” country of El Salvador.
We are currently finishing our final home in the Los Esteros Court development, and can’t wait to share our completion report with you!
