Catherine Stihler is a distinguished leader, adept community builder, campaigner and advocate.
Over the past five years Catherine has successfully led two global not for profits; the Open Knowledge Foundation and Creative Commons. Her visionary thinking, strategic focus and financial acumen propelled both organizations to noteworthy success.
With a career including two decades at the forefront of European policy creation and decision making, she uniquely bridges regulation and innovation, helping organizations understand compliance and achieve their strategic goals. She served as the 52nd Rector of the University of St Andrews and was the first elected Senior Lay Member of the governing body of the university where her expertise in board governance and effectiveness have been praised.
Catherine is excited about making a practical difference in her new local community. Her husband grew up in Monterey County and they moved back from Scotland with their family in 2021. She currently serves as Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee at Stevenson School and sits on the Filecoin Foundation Advisory Board.

Chief Financial Officer
Tracy joins Habitat Monterey Bay with an impressive track record in public sector finance, most recently serving as Director of Finance and Budget for the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission.
With deep expertise in financial strategy, managing complex public sector finances, budget oversight, and operational transparency, Tracy brings a passion for public service that aligns powerfully with Habitat’s mission.
In her role as CFO, Tracy oversees Habitat’s financial planning and stewardship of donor and partner resources, ensuring long-term sustainability as the organization scales up its efforts to build and preserve affordable homes, revitalize neighborhoods, and empower more families through homeownership.

GABBY RUBIO
Director of Program Services
Gabby has been an integral part of Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay since September 2016. She played a crucial role in the successful launch of both the Seaside and Watsonville ReStore locations, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge in daily store operations and experience in financial management. Originally from the LA area, Gabby made the move to Monterey to pursue her education at CSUMB, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
Her meticulous attention to detail, coupled with her exceptional interpersonal skills, has enabled her to forge meaningful connections within the Monterey Bay community. Gabby is deeply passionate about Habitat for Humanity’s mission and is dedicated to ensuring that families have access to safe and secure housing. Her commitment to this cause drives her to continually seek innovative ways to support the organization’s efforts.
When she isn’t working, Gabby loves to explore the stunning landscapes and delightful culinary offerings of Monterey Bay. Whether hiking along the coast or savoring a meal at a local restaurant, she always enjoys her adventures with her beloved dog by her side.

AURELIO SALAZAR, JR.
Fundraising and Development Manager
Aurelio brings a wealth of experience both in the non-profit sector and foundation worlds. He most recently worked with Catholic Charities as the Director of Program and Services. Prior to Catholic Charities, he served as a Program Officer for the Community Foundation for Monterey County.
Aurelio is a graduate from San Diego State University and San Jose State University. In addition, he completed the Community Leadership Program a project of the Hewlett, Irvin, and Packard Foundation to build the next generation of nonprofit leaders. He also completed two professional development certificate programs through Cornell University’s eCornell Program in Public Sector Leadership and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

ReStore General Manager
With over two decades of management and leadership experience, Chucky De Luna brings a strong background in insurance, telecommunications, and business operation sales. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and is passionate about building strong team cultures and advocating for the community. Chucky looks forward to living the company’s mission and vision while contributing to its continued success.
Born and raised in Santa Cruz County, he serves on the MBYFL Watsonville Jr. Catz Board and enjoys coaching youth football, wrestling, Jiu Jitsu and soccer. In his free time, Chucky loves traveling with his family, fishing, and staying active in the community he calls home.

Homeowner Services Associate
Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay is currently accepting applicaitons for the position of Community Impact Manager in our Watsonville office.
The Homeowner Services Associate supports prospective and current homeowners by delivering customer service, administering homeowner assistance programs, and guiding clients through the homeownership process. This role assists with program eligibility, application processing, basic mortgage lending support, and credit review report review, while ensuring compliance with program guidelines. The position administers and promotes the CalHome and Serna programs, maintains accurate records, and collaborates with staff and community partners to ensure equitable and effective service delivery. Bilingual/Spanish skills are highly desirable.

Office Manager
Graciela is an experienced banking professional with over 13 years of leadership and customer service experience in the financial industry. She has grown from teller to branch manager, building strong skills in team leadership, operations, and member relations along the way. Known for her dedication, organization, and bilingual communication skills.
Graciela is passionate about helping both her team and her community succeed. She has also been actively involved in community outreach and volunteer efforts in both Monterey and Santa Cruz County, reflecting her commitment to service beyond the workplace.
Graciela brings her leadership experience and passion for helping others into Habitat for Humanity of Monterey Bay where she will continue making a positive impact.

ANNIE MARTIN
Accountant
Annie brings a wealth of experience to Habitat Monterey Bay having worked in both the public and private sectors. Most recently, she served as an Accounting Technician for the City of Santa Cruz and previously held a similar role with Santa Cruz City Schools, where she developed extensive expertise in financial operations, budgeting, and accounting systems.
Drawn to Habitat’s mission and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, Annie was excited to transition into the nonprofit sector. She believes strongly in the importance of affordable housing and is looking forward to supporting Habitat’s work as it continues to build homes, communities, and hope throughout Monterey and Santa Cruz counties.
