PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Administered by Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay, the City of Capitola's Housing Rehabilitation Program provides repair services to owner-occupied, deed-restricted single-family homes and condominiums within Capitola’s inclusionary housing stock. The program focuses on addressing essential health and safety issues, correcting code violations, and preserving affordable housing for the community.

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY
Homeowners may be eligible for:

Grants of up to $12,650 for specific repairs on deed-restricted affordable units

Loans of up to $75,000, which in some cases may be partially forgivable, depending on household income and program requirements
Income limits apply to participate in the Housing Rehabilitation Program. Households earning up to 50% of the area median income may qualify for certain types of assistance, while those earning up to 80% of the median income may be eligible for broader support through grants or loans. Income and asset limits can vary, so we encourage interested homeowners to reach out for current guidelines.
